FUT HAIR TRANSPLANT
FUT means Follicular Unit Transplant. In short, a strip of hair-bearing skin is removed from your head’s back and/or sides where there is usually dense hair. This site is then sutured closed. Next, the donor hair is dissected into tiny grafts containing two to three hairs. The grafts are then placed into tiny slits in your recipient area. Your body’s natural “glue” will anchor the grafts in place within minutes.
Be patient as full results will only be apparent eight months to one year later, although several patients see a significant difference much quicker. The surgery may result in a hairline scar from where the stip was removed. By leaving hair in this area at least 1.5cm long, the scar should not be visible.
This type of hair transplant remains the surgery of choice amongst most ethnic hair patients at Medical Hair Restoration. FUT is also a very effective transplant method for patients suffering from severe balding. FUT requires an exceptionally skilled and experienced surgeon.
