Dr. Craig Ress
Dr Ress completed his initial medical training at the University of Cape Town Medical School and Groote Schuur Hospital in South Africa. After going to Canada, he wrote and passed the registration exams and then practised as a general practitioner in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan. After leaving Strasbourg, he was part of the resident house staff in the intensive care-, coronary care- and emergency units at the three hospitals in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Dr Ress trained as a hair restoration surgeon in Sydney and Melbourne (Australia), Dallas (Texas), Harvard Medical School, Boston (USA), and Toronto and Vancouver (Canada). Dr Ress regularly attends ongoing educational seminars and conferences to ensure that he is at the forefront of hair-transplantation surgery.
Dr Ress is ably assisted by a professional team who have taken specialised training in hair transplant surgery. Our consulting rooms are located on the 4th Floor of de Waterkant Centre, 9 Somerset Road in Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa. All surgeries are performed in our own fully equipped, state of the art surgical theatres.
Dr Larry Gershowitz
Having completed his medical training at the University of Stellenbosch in 1989, Dr Gershowitz, worked for two years at Groote Schuur Hospital. He then went on to become a National Medical associate for Glaxo Pharmaceuticals in Gauteng before returning to Cape Town to start his own pharmaceutical business. After selling the business he joined Dr Ress in mid-1998 as an associate, and after extensive training is now fully qualified in the field of surgical hair restoration.
Dr Gershowitz has attended many overseas Live Surgery workshops in Orlando, Florida and also annually attends the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) World Hair congress.
Dr Gershowitz regularly attends educational seminars, international conferences and live surgical workshops to ensure that he remains at the forefront of hair-transplantation surgery.
He also does numerous lectures and talks regarding hair loss and is actively involved in the ongoing medical and patient education doing live radio chats and TV presentations.
He has appeared on SABC1 and the Nolleen Show (SABC3) and has also been interviewed on Radio 702 and 567, Radio Sondergrense, SAFM and KIA FM.
Dr s Ress and Gershowitz have been involved together in practice for over 12years and are equal partners in the leading Hair Clinic in South Africa, Medical Hair Restoration SA.
