Hair loss has been all over the news in recent weeks thanks to Wayne Rooney's decision to expose his improved hairline via Twitter.
We all know the facts when it comes to losing your locks, and the damage it does to your personal life and confidence. That is why it is important for such influential people to show that something can be done.
Rooney kept his fans updated about his hair transplants and even revealed a picture a couple days after the surgery had been completed. In all honesty though, hair transplants are not new to the sporting world, with a number of high-profile stars having already undergone treatment.
Today we look at three other stars that have confessed to hair transplants, all of whom come from the international cricket scene.
Jacques Kallis:
The legendary South African is set to become one of the greatest all-rounders that the world has ever seen. In South Africa, many people will find it difficult to forget Kallis' role in promoting Sanex shampoo and skin products. The player suffered radical hair loss at one stage but suddenly emerged for a match in December, 2010, with a brand new look. Fans immediately reacted via Twitter as they saw an instantly younger looking Kallis storm in at the crease, with his hair swaying in the wind thanks to a successful transplant procedure.
Shane Warne:
The Australian spin wizard has enjoyed his share of controversy over the years, and although he struggled to combat his beer belly for a while, he did manage to combat hair loss. The legendary bowler underwent laser therapy and even appeared in an advert to endorse the treatment. The advert was not able to be aired though as the media watchdog thought it was misleading.
Virender Sehwag:
Sehwag underwent hair transplant surgery around two years ago and certainly wasn't shy about the process. The player claimed: "In India we do not have a culture of staying bald. Everyone wants to shampoo and style his hair. I am one of them."
This trend is showing that more and more people understand that hair loss doesn't need to be permanent. Contact Medhair today for more information.
